DEEP SPACE PHOTOS

This image was taken in 2014 through an FLT110 using a Canon Rebel digital camera, and is a single exposure of 3 minutes duration.

This next image was taken in August 2015. It is a single exposure of 400 seconds taken through an FLT110 using a Canon Rebel digital camera, and a William Optics adjustable field flattener (flat-IV). The background is much lighter in this image due to the fact that it was taken low on the horizon and the glow from the setting sun is still present.

The Whirlpool Galaxy M51

Here is a cropped close-up of galaxy M51 taken from the original full size image of M51 shown above. It should be a bit sharper than it appears here, so I'm guessing the focus is off slightly. It will probably be better once I figure out how to use the live view on the digital screen of the camera to focus, as opposed to the camera's view finder which I used to take this image.
